Watercolors

One of my passions is creating plein air watercolor landscapes and botanical watercolor illustrations. Immersing myself in the landscape, I enjoy hiking and painting with my dog, Hoagan. I attempt to encapsulate the feeling and essence of the area by working quickly to capture specific lighting. I often complete my watercolors in one sitting with a few additional touch ups at home in my studio in East Asheville, NC. Some of my favorite subjects are river and creek beds, gnarly tree roots, and scenic vistas that overlook the city.  I also create plein air studies while traveling with my husband, Eric Harrison.
